Concord Projects is seeking candidates for a future Construction Manager role.

As a Construction Manager, you will manage a portfolio of local projects to successful completion with the Construction team. Success is defined by proactive management of project activities, sustaining positive subtrade and client relationships, and delivering projects to our clients that meet their needs.


Reporting to the Senior/Vice President of Construction, the Construction Manager:

  • Works closely with the Construction Supervisor on each project to plan and prepare all project documentation, plans, schedules, materials, subtrades, permits and insurance.
  • Collaborates with the site team on safety protocol for job start up and maintain safety goals throughout the project.
  • Reviews and approves progress invoices, collect progress payments, update cash flow requirements and holdback releases.
  • Expedites all shop drawing reviews and approvals.
  • Evaluates all changes and examines charges by the trade contractors.
  • Chairs all owner meetings and attends all subtrade meetings to build relationships, discuss and resolve items and regularly communicate progress.
  • Assists Construction Supervisor with labour problems, settling contract disputes and other challenges with project stakeholders.
  • Inspects work to meet Concord’s standard and works with Construction Supervisor and subtrades to resolve deficiencies.
  • Leads a smooth and detailed owner handover process, including obtaining occupancy permits, and introducing the Quality Assurance Manager at occupancy.

Our next teammate has/is:

  • A minimum of five years’ of managing construction projects valued at $5M or more, in addition to previous on-site experience.
  • Graduate of an engineering, technology, or related degree program, or a combination of years of experience and professional development may also be considered.
  • Above average interpersonal skills to effectively communicate, lead and motivate others to act.
  • An ability to interpret, coordinate and analyze blueprints and shop drawings for discrepancies.
  • Experience reviewing and coordinating subcontracts with tender documents.
  • Thorough understanding of local building code requirements.
  • Hands-on construction experience in a trade an asset.
  • Microsoft Office experience, specifically Project, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience with construction software, preferably Procore and BlueBeam.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
