Concord Projects is seeking a Skilled Labourer to work at various project sites to complete rough carpentry tasks and assist the Construction Supervisor or Carpenter in maintaining the company’s quality standards.
Our ideal person has the following key characteristics, skills and experience:
- Safety focused and cares about creating a safe job site.
- Detail-oriented and constantly thinking about the best way to do the work that will result in a superior finished product.
- At least five years of experience on commercial construction projects.
- Able to read drawings/blueprints.
- Interest in working toward a Red Seal or Journeyperson status considered an asset.
- Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle an asset.
The Job
The Skilled Labourer supports our project teammates with set up, tidiness and rough carpentry. Some of the typical tasks of the job include:
- Preparing job sites including setting up scaffolding, site fencing, cold weather hoarding, assisting with basic rough carpentry tasks.
- Maintaining job site appearance by installing signage, shoveling snow, sweeping, litter picking, material tidying, etc.
- Building and/or assembling concrete forms and placing concrete using rakes, screeds, and trowels under the direction of the site carpenter.
- Basic framing, backing, blocking.
- Measuring and cutting materials.
- Operating hand tools, power tools, material lifts, etc.
- Handling and transporting job materials or supplies to work sites.
