Concord Projects is seeking a Skilled Labourer to work at various project sites to complete labour and rough carpentry tasks and assist the Construction Supervisor or Carpenter in maintaining the company’s quality standards.
Our ideal person has the following key characteristics, skills and experience:
- Driven and excited about working in the construction industry.
- Safety focused and cares about creating a safe job site.
- Detail-oriented and constantly thinking about the best way to do the work that will result in a superior finished product.
- Capable of working independently and meet established deadlines.
- At least two years' of experience on commercial construction projects.
- Able to read drawings/blueprints.
- Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle required.
The Job
The Skilled Labourer works closely with the Construction Supervisor to build or repair structures and components on our project sites. Some of the typical tasks of the job include:
- Complete site-specific house keeping duties as assigned.
- Coordinate and assist with material processing and handling duties.
- Operate equipment for miscellaneous tasks including skid steers, telehandlers and aerial lifts; Certifications Required.
- Read shop drawings, drawings and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements.
- Prepare layouts that comply with building codes and safety regulations.
- Assist carpenters with measuring and assembling materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials.
- Build and install tub protection, safety railings, concrete forms, etc.
- Fit and install finishing items, such as doors, stairs, molding and hardware.
